Who we are Our Approach
At Emory Vision, you are treated like an individual and your care is customized at every stage of the process. Everyone’s eyes are unique, so we do not take an assembly-line approach to eye surgery. Your first choice will be to select a surgeon from the handful of renowned specialists whose profiles can be found on this site. Each is a highly trained teacher and leader in the field of corrective eye surgery, who has reached the top of his or her field by meeting the stringent standards required for operating and teaching others to operate at a major academic medical center. Like Emory, all have performed more than the number of LASIK surgeries that studies have found to be needed for proficiency.1, 2
When you come for your initial visit, your chosen physician will conclude your appointment by personally examining your eyes and discussing your options. Once you arrive at a decision, the same physician will perform the surgery you select, and personally follow-up with you on all your subsequent visits for post-operative care at Emory Vision. Since all Emory Vision surgeons are Board-Certified cornea specialists they can recommend and provide an alternative course of treatment for you if you are not a good candidate for refractive surgery.
